  1. Beeswax is a naturally occurring substance secreted by worker bees and widely used today for its beneficial properties. In skincare, it functions as an occlusive by forming a semi-occlusive barrier that helps reduce transepidermal water loss, as a humectant that helps retain moisture, and as an emollient that softens and soothes the skin.
