About SENSOSALVE

In the temperate rainforests of British Columbia—where the air carries notes of cedar, ocean salt, and wild blossoms—we create natural formulations born from the quiet intelligence of the earth. Our soaps, salves, and 100% natural beeswax candles are the result of a delicate union between botanical science and the poetry of place.

We begin with ingredients chosen not only for their purity, but for their proven physiological benefits. Cold-pressed plant oils rich in antioxidants, wildcrafted herbs known for their restorative properties, and unrefined Canadian beeswax containing natural esters, propolis, and trace minerals. Each component is studied, understood, and blended with intention—designed to respect the skin’s natural barrier, calm inflammation, and support the body’s innate ability to heal.

Every product is handcrafted in small batches, allowing us to honor the natural variability of botanicals—subtle shifts in color, aroma, and texture shaped by season, soil, and sunlight. These variations are not flaws; they are signatures of authenticity, reminders that each formula originates from a living landscape.

Our candles are poured using pure beeswax—the slow-burning, golden wax created by honeybees from the nectar of BC’s wildflowers. When lit, they release a naturally ionizing glow and a faint, honeyed warmth, turning any room into a place of quiet restoration.

We craft not just products, but sensory rituals.
The soft lather of a botanical soap.
The comforting warmth of a healing salve.
The gentle crackle and amber light of a beeswax flame.

Each experience is meant to ground you, calm you, and reconnect you to the elements that shaped it.

Rooted in British Columbia’s untamed beauty.

Guided by science.

Refined through artistry.

This is luxury, distilled by nature.

BEESWAX

Beeswax, a naturally occurring substance crafted by honeybees, has been valued for centuries for its remarkable versatility and beneficial properties. In skincare, it is especially recognized for its dermatoprotective qualities, making it a powerful and reliable ingredient in many formulations. Beeswax is known to be non-irritating and typically exhibits a low comedogenic potential. In addition, it offers notable antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties (Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 22, Pages: 2166-2173, 2023). Read more here.

HONEY

Traditionally, honey has been used globally to help manage various skin conditions rooted in microbiological and immunological causes. For instance, honey is applied to support the care of cuts, wounds, eczema, dermatitis, burns, and even Fournier’s gangrene. Honey’s skin-supporting and healing abilities are primarily linked to its antimicrobial properties. Numerous in-vitro studies have shown that honeys from around the world exhibit antimicrobial activity against microbes relevant to dermatological health (Journal of Food and Agricultural Immunology, 27, 3, Pages: 338-349, 2016). CANADIAN BEEKEEPRS

Sensosalve is using Canadian Beeswax to support Canadian Beekeepers in BC. Beekeepers often lose their bees due to extreme weather conditions and disease. For example, in the 2023 season, the industry continued recovering from the unusually high overwinter colony losses experienced in 2022, requiring beekeepers to rebuild honey bee populations throughout the spring and summer in CANADA.
